Toluna Surveys

I was very pleasantly surprised when I signed up for the Toluna survey scheme. The initial signup for was small and compact and very easy to fill in and get going. There’s the usual email confirmation to check the email address is valid, but then you can log on and get going.

The Toluna system works around earning points in return for surveys and other actions. Once you receive sufficient points, you can entger prize draws or claim vouchers for certain popular high street names. The problem at the moment for my account is that there seems to be a lot of points needed to earn a voucher. Maybe it is seen as more of a social networking site than a work site, because there are a hole host of social networking features on Toluna, it’s not just about signing on and taking surveys.

As a new account holder you are encouraged to fill in a set of surveys about yourself. In my experience, these can take the format of anything from just a couple of questions when the area is not of real relevance, to a whole host of questions.

In return for each of these questionnaires you earn more points. And there’s a bonus point earning when you complete all of the questionnaires. These questionnaires aren’t enough in themselves to take you up to a voucher earning point, but they help to get you close.

The main point of these questionnaires is that the system learns a lot more about you and can select surveys that are appropriate to you. This is the main earning potential of the Toluna system and you will be invited to take part in a variety of surveys on a regular basis.

As with all survey work from home schemes, there is no compulsion to take part in any survey. They send the invites, give an indication of how long the survey might take and tell you the potention earning. But the first part of the survey is a screening process, sometimes involving a whole set of questions. Unfortunately, this screening process is designed to ensure that the people completing the surveys fit into certain demographic groups. And whenever I go through the screening process, I always find that I’m not in the correct demographic group by the time I reach the end of the questionnaire.

Overall, the Toluna survey system is interesting and can be good fun. It’s more of an active community than just a simple survey system. If you are into features such as Facebook, then this could be a survey site for you. For the small effort to sign up, it is certainly worth the time. Give it a go now!
