Build A Niche Website
If you have a bit of time on your side and aren’t too desperate to earn money right this minute, then there is a way to potentially earn a large income. In fact, along the way you will be earning a decent amount, that is critical to the plan. But that’s not the purpose of the project, it is an add on benefit.
What is the secret of this long term project that can potentially reap thousands in return for your efforts? Even if you get it wrong and it doesn’t grow as much as you would like it to, the eventual return should still be worth while, along with an income along the way.
Quite simply you build a website now, with the intention of selling it in the future. Yes, as simple as that. Just some homework now and a bit of legwork and in a few months you should be able to sell it for a decent profit.
You have to start with a good URL. Look around and investigate some suitable keywords without huge search engine competition. Find a product or a range of products that you can reasonably easily get listed quite well on. Then research a suitable URL based around your ideal keyword.
Once you have registered the URL, build a website for the domain. If web design isn’t your thing, then use a free tool available on the internet, or a free tool available at your hosting service. It doesn’t have to loom fantastic, that’s not what you will be selling it on.
Build into the site plenty of selling opportunities. If you can drop ship the product then run the site as a shop. Else just run the site as a large affiliate site promoting the chosen product. Add adverts such as Google’s Adsense to earn more once the traffic starts.
And that is where the work begins. Once you have the site live, start link building as much as you can. Forums, blogs etc and link exchanges. More importantly, write and publish articles to get one way links and if you have done the keyword research correctly, you should start to see your site quickly rising up the search engine rankings and hopefully arriving at the top page of your favourite search engine. Take it a step further and try for the number 1 spot.
Once it is listed well on Google, keep working with it to ensure that you earn a good income. Run a mailing list if that helps draw in traffic. Anything to start earning a good amount.
But this income isn’t what you are aiming for alone. Once your website has established a good monthly income, start looking around for websites that offer the service of selling websites. If your website is established with a good income, it should be easy to sell it for the equivalent of several months’ income. And once you have sold it, you can start on another site. Or if you have the time, start before you sell it, as once the site starts being noticed, your workload should drop off.
